This book began to be stitched together even before the construction of the Gramaxo Foundation’s building had begun, with António Júlio Duarte initiating his photographic essay with a visit to the original site. Four years later, this project culminated with the installation of the foundation’s art collection. Nuno Miguel Borges interviewed Álvaro Siza; Eduardo Souto de Moura, João Gomes da Silva, Jorge Figueira, Kenneth Frampton and Peter Testa contributed with their perspectives on the different facets of Álvaro Siza’s work; and Manuel Aires Mateus wrote about the building after visiting it.
