Manuel Botelho: Obra e Projecto 1980-2008
António Neves, Bruno Baldaia e Carlos Maia (eds.)
This book, published by Circo de Ideias and edited by António Neves, Bruno Baldaia and Carlos Maia, is the culmination of a long process that involved different actions and moments. The initial impetus was the recognition that the quality of Manuel Botelho’s work did not correspond to a proportionate visibility. Manuel Botelho is the author of award-winning and outstanding works, he is present in important exhibitions in the panorama of Portuguese architecture in the last fifty years, he is an outstanding professor for the ESBAP – Superior School of Fine Arts of Porto and FAUP – Porto University School of Architecture and for that place of Portuguese architecture which we call Escola do Porto.
An unprecedented monograph about the architect Manuel Botelho that gathers over 360 pages a selection of 27 works and projects, as well as a set of original essays by Carlos Machado, José Manuel Soares, Jorge Reis, Victor Mestre and Bruno Baldaia.
The editorial project was supported by the Marques da Silva Foundation; the Landscape, Heritage and Territory Laboratory (Lab2PT) of Minho University; the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism from Porto University; Porto University School of Architecture; School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho; the Foundation for Science and Technology and the Order of Architects.
