Itinerários. Da/UAL 25 ano
This book, published by Circo de Ideias, conceived and coordinated by Ricardo Carvalho, is the result of nine conversations that took place between April and July 2024 around the Departamento de Arquitectura da Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa.
Over the course of nine conversations, nine itineraries are traced that follow the history of the school, its pedagogy, and its impact on the profession. The book that results from these itineraries is a reflection on the teaching of architecture and the contribution of Da/UAL to it. The themes that served as the motto for each of the sessions were chosen to provide a view of the relationship between the practice of architecture and its teaching from different points of view.
In each conversation, and with each of the guests, new references were brought to bear on the themes. These references come from an expanded field of knowledge, involving art, literature, poetry, philosophy, and cinema, with architecture at the centre, demonstrating how this discipline places us on a platform from which we can look at and transform the world.
